Dům 48

The housing development in Malšova Lhota was a part of the urban planning scheme for the city expansion. In order to create a strong connection between interior and exterior the building envelope was perforated by irregular windows' pattern - simultaneously creating a clear and vibrant image. A great variety of 48 flats has been achieved, ranging from multi-room duplex apartments to double room layouts. The main four-storey volume of the building, which is based on the rationally organized flats, contrasts with the two-floor roof dwellings providing the single-family housing standard. The area in between these lofts is used as a roof garden.
